ADSL uses an existing analogue telephone line to receive an always on, high speed connection to the internet without paying additional call charges, whilst allowing you to use the telephone at the same time.
In partnership with Be, part of the O2 group, Safeserve is at the forefront of providing the fastest broadband service available in the UK, with bandwidth up to 48 times more than any other provider.
While the maximum possible download speed of our ADSL 2+ lines is 24Mbps, in practice the majority of installations achieve around 18Mbps downspeed, and 1.25Mbps upspeed.
ADSL 2+ is the only ADSL service to provide such a high upspeed; all other suppliers of ADSL only provide one fifth of that, at 256Kbps. Normally ignored, this is especially import for our data backup service and for remote and VPN connections to office servers.
The most widespread version of ADSL offers downspeeds of between 512Kbps and 8Mbps, all with 256Kbps upspeed. Where ADSL2+ is not available, we recommend and offer a variant of this with a fixed IP address, thus allowing us to provide online support and allowing you to remotely connect to your own computers or servers.
More expensive than ADSL, SDSL uses similar technology but provides symmetric upspeed and downspeed from 512kbps to 2Mbps. As it is considered more suitable for business use, it has a lower contention ratio of between 5:1 and 10:1 and unlike ADSL has a SLA (Service Level Agreement).
SDSL is perfect for
Ideal for businesses that require high speed, synchronous access to the Internet,
connecting sites together via a VPN or a corporate network, all for a fixed monthly
fee. SDSL broadband is perfect for onsite hosting of web/content, voice over IP
and where there is a requirement for high bandwidth data transfer both up and downstream.
In partnership with Easynet, Safeserve offers EtherStream as a cost effective, scalable, Layer 2 Ethernet service delivered using Easynet's national Local Loop infrastructure. With symmetric connections from 2Mbps to 20Mbps and coverage across the UK, Etherstream provides a highly reliable and secure method of transmitting critical high volume traffic.
